Bar1s Urban Fitness trainers are experienced and fully educated with degrees in Exercise Science, Kinesiology  or equivalent. This facility gives you the opportunity to exercise with a qualified trainer and to help you reach new heights in personal fitness.

Bar1s Urban Fitness trainers have a combined 25 years in the fitness and sports industry. Their experiences vary from guiding people through a healthier lifestyle, to conditioning athletes for varying sports.

JOE BARONE

FOUNDER OF BAR1S URBAN FITNESS

Joe has more than 24 years experience in the health and fitness industry, motivating and educating people from all walks of life. He founded Sault Ste. Marie's first Personal Training Private Fitness Studio in 1999 which has since grown to become Bar1s Urban Fitness. 

Joe's training background varies from weight loss, sports conditioning, and post rehabilitation. He has established a respectable reputation with local health providers. This has enabled him to further his outreach and also help his clients reach their full potential.

SANDY PICCOLO

PERSONAL TRAINER, GROUP FITNESS INSTRUCTOR AND FASCIAL STRETCH THERAPIST

Sandy has been in the fitness industry for over 25 years. She has helped people lose weight, increase energy, reduce pain and make lifestyle changes with nutrition and improved flexibility. Her passion is Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST). Sandy is a Level 3 Fascial Stretch Therapist and Sports Specific through the Stretch To Win Institute. She has been a Fascial Stretch Therapist for 10 years.

Sandy believes flexibility, exercise and nutrition are all part of the global picture of living a healthy lifestyle. Her passion for fitness has expanded to teaching Personal Trainer Specialist, Fascial Mobility and Assessment and Healthy Eating and Healthy Weight Loss Coach courses to personal trainers in Ontario for Canadian Fitness Professionals.

NATALIE SERRE

PERSONAL TRAINER, GROUP FITNESS

Natalie believes in the importance of exercise as a tool to obtain optimal physical and mental wellbeing.  Using the S.M.A.R.T. criteria, Natalie is dedicated to helping define the goals that will best enhance your life. She has helped clients with a variety of goals including but not limited to weight loss, strength, mobility, and longevity. She is passionate in educating people on how having a healthy relationship with fitness will get you the most out of your time in and out of the gym. Natalie knows personally the benefits of how making lifestyle changes can build lifelong habits that will strengthen your ability to consistently meet your goals. This is implemented in her training style.  If you’re looking to nurture your overall health, Natalie will explore all that that entails and then walk the journey with you.
